Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Sunday
The banking sector in the Egyptian Stock Exchange closed in today’s trading session on sunday, 10 May 2026, recording a increased in its market capitalization by 0.53%, reaching EGP 907.492 billion at the end of today’s session, compared to EGP 902.675 billion the previous day’s closing.
The sector’s market capitalization accounted for 24.64% of the total market capitalization, the highest share among all listed sectors on the exchange.
Trading value on banking sector stocks reached EGP 638.17 million, representing 5.19% of the total trading value on the exchange today. A total of 13.27 million shares were traded in the sector, accounting for 0.51% of the overall trading volume of the market.
The Egyptian Stock Exchange closed at the end of today’s trading on a collective rise in its main trading, amid the trend of foreign investors towards a net purchase of 258.8 million pounds.
The main index “EGX30” increased by 1.91% to 54.628 points, while the “EGX70” index rose by 1.40% to 14,702 points, and the “EGX100” index rose by 1.72% to reach 20.553 points.
