Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Tuesday
the banking sector in the Egyptian Stock Exchange closed in today’s trading session on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, recording a decrease in its market capitalization by 0.89%, reaching EGP 891.691 billion at the end of today’s session, compared to 899.725 the previous trading session's closing.
The sector’s market capitalization accounted for 24.23% of the total market capitalization, the highest share among all listed sectors on the exchange.
Trading value on banking sector stocks reached EGP 557.478 million, representing 5.19% of the total trading value on the exchange today. A total of 8.049 million shares were traded in the sector, accounting for 0.22% of the overall trading volume of the market.
The Egyptian Exchange closed at the end of today’s trading session with a broad decrease in the main indices, while foreign investors tended toward buying, recording a net purchase value of approximately EGP 258.8 million.
The benchmark EGX30 index declined by 0.59% to close at 52.299 points, while the EGX70 index decreased by 0.05% to 16.555 points, and the EGX100 index fell by 0.03% to close at 22.340 points.
