Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Monday

The banking sector in the Egyptian Stock Exchange closed in today’s trading session on Monday, July 20, 2026, recording an increase in its market capitalization by 1.81%, reaching EGP 905.328 billion at the end of today’s session, compared to 889.266 the previous trading session's closing.

The sector’s market capitalization accounted for 24.10% of the total market capitalization, the highest share among all listed sectors on the exchange.

Trading value on banking sector stocks reached EGP 981.545 million, representing 8.09% of the total trading value on the exchange today. A total of 12.058 million shares were traded in the sector, accounting for 0.33% of the overall trading volume of the market.

The Egyptian Exchange closed at the end of today’s trading session with a broad increase in the main indices, while foreign investors tended toward buying, recording a net purchase value of approximately EGP 258.8 million.

The benchmark EGX30 index increased by 1.08% to close at 53.126 points, while the EGX70 index increased by 1.72% to 17.560 points, and the EGX100 index gained 1.37% to close at 23.397 points.
