The First Bank ranking of the fastest-growing banks operating in Egypt in terms of deposits over the last three years revealed that Arab International Bank claimed the top spot, recording a compound annual growth rate of 54.99% over the three-year period. Its deposits reached 305.45 EGP bn at the end of 2025, compared with 82.04 EGP bn at the end of 2022.
Suez Canal Bank ranked second, with its total deposits growing at a CAGR of 47.00% over the last three years, reaching 209.04 EGP bn at the end of 2025, compared with 65.80 EGP bn at the end of 2022.
Arab African International Bank secured third place, recording a CAGR of 46.58% over the last 3 years. Its total assets reached 687.08 EGP bn at the end of December 2025, compared with 218.15 EGP bn at the end of 2022.
The First Bank ranking tracked the development of deposit portfolios at 27 banks operating in Egypt’s banking sector for which financial data was available. The data showed that all banks recorded positive deposit growth over the period under review.
At the sector level, the data showed that 15 banks in the ranking achieved deposit growth rates exceeding the banking sector’s average CAGR of 22.57%, according to Central Bank of Egypt data. Meanwhile, 12 banks recorded growth rates below this average over the last 3 years.
Among the foreign banks included in the ranking, foreign institutions secured half of the top 10 spots for the fastest deposit growth over the last three years. These banks were ADIB Egypt, Attijariwafa Bank Egypt, ABK Egypt, NBK Egypt and KFH Egypt.
Islamic banks secured two spots among the top 10 fastest-growing banks in deposits over the last three years. ADIB Egypt ranked fourth, while KFH Egypt ranked ninth.
It should be noted that all figures and growth rates mentioned in the analysis are based on the standalone financial statements disclosed by each bank as of the end of 2025.
