Islamic Banks Secure One Spot Among the Top Five Out of 3 Banks Included in theRanking
The First Bank ranking of the fastest-growing banks in terms of assets as of June 2026 revealed that Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank–Egypt topped the list, recording an asset growth rate of 19.67%, with its total assets reaching approximately 411.85 EGP bn at the end of June 2026, compared with 344.15 EGP bn at the end of 2025.
The United Bank ranked second, recording an asset growth rate of 17.29% during H1 2026, with total assets reaching approximately 117 EGP bn at the end of June 2026, compared with EGP EGP bn at the end of 2025.
Commercial International Bank ranked third, as its asset portfolio grew by approximately 17.13% during H1 2026, reaching 1.68 EGP tn at the end of June 2026, compared with 1.44 EGP tn at the end of 2025.
The ranking, which covered all banks listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange, showed that all banks recorded positive growth rates in their total asset portfolios during H1 2026.
The ranking also showed that Islamic banks secured one position among the top five, with ADIB–Egypt ranking first.
Furthermore, ADIB–Egypt, CIB, and Suez Canal Bank maintained their positions among the top five between 2025 and June 2026, with only minor changes in their rankings.
Total assets of Egyptian banks listed on the stock exchange reached approximately 4.98 EGP tn at the end of June 2026, recording growth of 13.97% during the first half of the year, reflecting the continued expansion of the asset base of listed banks during the period.
It should be noted that all figures and growth rates mentioned in the above analysis are based on the standalone financial statements publicly disclosed by each bank as of the end of June 2026.
