ABC posts fastest net profit growth over three years
Arab Banking Corporation (Bank ABC) ranked first among the fastest-growing banks operating in Egypt by net profit over the past three years, recording an average annual growth rate of 691.56 per cent, according to First Bank’s ranking. Net profit rose to EGP 2.41 billion in 2025 from EGP 62.18 million in 2022. Arab International Bank (AIB) ranked second, with an average annual growth rate of 115.3 per cent over the same period, as net profit increased to EGP 5.98 billion in 2025 from EGP 688.02 million in 2022. Housing and Development Bank (HDB) ranked third, posting an average annual growth rate of 102.05 per cent over the past three years, after net profit rose to EGP 17.21 billion in 2025 from EGP 2.26 billion in 2022. First Bank’s ranking tracked net profit at 27 banks operating in Egypt over the three-year period, with financial data available for all banks covered. The analysis showed that every bank recorded positive average net profit growth over the period. Thirteen banks posted growth rates above the banking sector’s average annual net profit growth of 72.6 per cent over the past three years, based on Central Bank of Egypt data, while 14 recorded growth below the sector average. Four foreign banks ranked among the 10 fastest-growing banks by net profit over the period, out of 15 foreign banks covered by the ranking: Bank ABC, First Abu Dhabi Bank Misr (FABMISR), Emirates NBD Egypt and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) Egypt. Islamic banks were represented by only one lender among the top 10 fastest-growing banks by net profit over the past three years, with ADIB Egypt securing a place in the ranking.
