First Bank’s ranking of the 100 largest banks in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) at end-March 2026 showed that the top 10 banks accounted for about 46 per cent of total assets, reflecting the continued concentration of a large share of assets among the region’s largest banking institutions.
The combined assets of the top 10 banks grew by about 1.9 per cent quarter-on-quarter to USD 2.64 trillion at end-March 2026, compared with USD 2.59 trillion at end-2025.
The ranking was based on banks’ reported total assets at end-March 2026, converted into US dollars to provide a standardised basis for comparison across banking institutions.
