NBK–Egypt, ADIB-Egypt and Emirates NBD Egypt lead asset growth in H1 2026

National Bank of Kuwait – Egypt (NBK-Egypt) topped First Bank’s ranking of the fastest-growing banks operating in Egypt by total assets in the first half of 2026, climbing from 16th place in the 2025 ranking after recording growth of around 20.2 per cent.
The bank’s total assets reached EGP 270.3bn at end-June 2026, compared with EGP 224.86bn at end-2025.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt (ADIB-Egypt) ranked second, with total assets rising 19.7 per cent during H1 2026 to EGP 411.85bn at end-June, from EGP 344.15bn at end-2025.
Emirates NBD Egypt ranked third after its total assets increased by around 19.3 per cent to EGP 247.63bn at end-June 2026, compared with EGP 207.53bn at end-2025.
First Bank’s ranking tracked the total assets of 24 banks operating in Egypt for which financial data were available.
The results showed that 23 banks recorded positive growth rates, while one bank posted a notable decline during the first half of 2026.
At the sector level, the combined assets of the 24 banks reached around EGP 8.62tn at end-June 2026, up 10.6 per cent during H1 2026 from EGP 7.79tn at end-2025.
Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) remained the largest private-sector bank by total assets, with EGP 1.68tn at end-June 2026, while QNB Egypt ranked second with total assets of EGP 1.06tn over the same period.
Among Islamic banks, combined total assets reached around EGP 1.02tn at end-June 2026, compared with EGP 919.78bn at end-2025, representing growth of 11.3 per cent during the first half of the year.
