Bank ABC topped First Bank’s ranking of the fastest-growing banks in Egypt by net fee and commission income over the past three years, from end-2022 to end-2025, with average growth of 142.59 per cent, highlighting the strength of its non-interest income and its growing contribution to revenue diversification. 

The bank’s net fee and commission income rose to EGP 557.40mn in 2025 from EGP 83.56mn in 2022. Bank ABC’s 2022 annual report confirms net fee and commission income of EGP 83.56mn. 

Citibank ranked second, with average growth of 86.30 per cent over the past three years, as net fee and commission income rose to EGP 1.38bn in 2025 from EGP 279.04mn in 2022. 

Egyptian Gulf Bank (EGBANK) secured third place, with average growth of 74.59 per cent over the past three years, after its net fee and commission income increased to EGP 1.35bn in 2025 from EGP 285.14mn in 2022. 

First Bank’s ranking tracked the development of net fee and commission income at 26 banks operating in Egypt for which financial data were available. The results showed that all banks included in the ranking recorded positive average growth over the past three years. 

In terms of 2025 performance, Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) remained the highest-performing private-sector bank by net fee and commission income, recording around EGP 9.16bn, while Banque du Caire ranked second with around EGP 6.32bn.  

This reflects the strength of fee and commission income in supporting the two banks’ operating revenues and highlights the breadth of banking activities and services generating non-interest income. 

Among Islamic banks, representation remained limited, with just one of the four banks included in the ranking placing among the top 10. Al Baraka Bank Egypt ranked seventh, highlighting the divergence in net fee and commission income growth between Islamic banks and their conventional peers. 

All figures and average growth rates mentioned in the above analysis are based on the standalone financial statements published by each bank.
