QNB Al Ahli's non-performing loans rate soars to 4.92%

QNB AL Ahli's Non-performing loans significantly  increase over the past year to 4.92% by the end of 2022, compared to 3.67% by the end of 2021, an increase of 1.25%, due to the increase in non-performing rate of companies during the last quarter of last year.

Due to corporates, non-performing loans increased to 10.44 billion pounds at the end of 2022, compared to 5.96 billion pounds at the end of 2021, an increase of 4.48 billion pounds, and the last quarter of 2022  witnessed A noticeable increase, as their non-performing loans increased by 2.53 billion pounds in just 3 months.

Value of Non-performing loans to individuals  increased to 924.63 million pounds by the end of 2022, compared to 828.99 million pounds by the end of 2021, with 11.54%, and an increase of 95.64 million pounds.

Non-performing loans to corporates  increased to 5.62% of the bank’s total corporates loans by the end of 2022, compared to 4.01% by the end of 2021.

While individuals decreased marginally to 2.04% of the bank's total individuals loans at the end of 2021, compared to 2.28% at the end of 2021.

Therefore, QNB Al Ahli should reconsider the policies of granting credit to companies, and the need to achieve more control in the payment guarantees, to avoid a further increase in the rate of non-performing loans during the coming period.
