A slight decline dominated the market shares of CIB during 2022, due to the increase during the past year did not succeed in making noticeable increases in its market share in assets, deposits and financial investments, while it was sufficient to cause a slight increase in its loan portfolio.

Asset market

CIB's market share declined slightly over the past year, as it lost 0.20% of its share in this market, to reach 5.56% of the total assets of the banking sector by the end of 2022, compared to 5.76% by the end of 2021.

Financial investment market

CIB lost 1.03% of its share in the financial investment market, as its share declined to 5.38% of the total financial investments (securities) in the banking sector by the end of 2022, compared to 6.40% by the end of 2021.

Loan market

CIB succeeded in adding 0.07% to its market share in the loan market, as its share increased to 5.45% of total banking sector loans by the end of 2022, compared to 5.38% by the end of 2021.

Due to the bank’s success in increasing its share in individual finance market to 7.08% of total retail loans in the banking sector by the end of 2022, compared to 6.83% by the end of 2021.

Deposit market

The bank’s market share witnessed a slight decline in the deposit market, as the bank lost 0.12% of its share during the past year, to decline to 6.18% of the total banking sector deposits by the end of 2022, compared to 6.30% by the end of 2021.

Due to the decline in its share in Households sector's deposits market to 5.25% by the end of 2022, compared to 5.36% by the end of 2021.

Despite the bank’s success in making significant increases in its main portfolios, as its deposits portfolio increased by 30.54%, to record EGP530.12 bn by the end of 2022, compared to EGP406.10 bn by the end of 2021, an increase of EGP124.02 bn.

An increase in the bank’s individual deposits portfolio from EGP226.240 bn by the end of 2021 to EGP267.900 bn by the end of 2022, achieving a growth rate of 18.41%, and an increase of EGP41.660 bn.

The total bank loans rose to EGP 218.63 bn by the end of 2022, compared to EGP163.9 bn by the end of 2021, achieving a growth rate of 34.06%, and an increase of EGP55.55 bn

The bank’s individual loan portfolio increased from EGP41.063 bn at the end of 2021 to EGP 53.287 bn at the end of 2022, achieving a growth rate of 29.77%, and an increase of EGP12.224 bn.

Total financial investments rose from EGP 212.95 bn at the end of 2021 to EGP 238.17 bn at the end of 2022, an increase of EGP 25.22 bn.

The assets portfolio grew by 27.58%, reaching EGP633.64 bn at the end of last year, compared to EGP496.65 bn at the end of 2021, an increase of EGP 136.99 bn.
