Egypt's annual inflation rate keeps climbing to 31.5% by April 2023end – CAPMAS
Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics announced, in a statement issued today, that the annual inflation rate was recorded at 31.5% for April 2023, compared to 14.9% for the same month of the previous year.
The statement indicated that the monthly inflation rate increased by 1.8% during April, as CPI reached 169.6 points for April 2023, recording an increase of 1.8% compared to March 2023.
Due to the increase in the prices of cereals and bread group by 7%, meat and poultry group by 0.9%, and fish and seafood group by 7.3%.
In addition, sugar by 1.1%, vegetables by 3.9%, coffee, tea and cocoa by 2.4%, Tobacco and Related Products by 6.1%.
textiles by 1.8%, shoes repair by 3%, clothes by 4%, cleaning, repair and renting clothes by 2.1%, shoes by 4.8%, rent for housing by 0.7%.
maintenance goods by 1.1%, water and housing by 0.1%, furniture, fixtures, carpets and other floor coverings by 1.6%, and household appliances by 2.9%.
