Retail banking departments, most contributors to bank financing portfolios by end of 2022

First Bank list of Retail banking departments that contributed the most to bank financing during the previous year revealed that HD Bank topped the list, after its Retail banking department contributed 55.54% to total customer finance, as the value of retail loans EGP21.2 bn, while total portfolio of customer loans recorded EGP38.2 bn by the end of December 2022.
Alex bank ranked second after its Retail Banking department acquired 47.66% of total loans, as its total retail loan portfolio reached EGP 28.4 bn, and total customer loans recorded EGP59.6 bn by the end of December 2022.
Banque du Caire came in third place after its Retail banking department contributed 40.41% to the bank’s total financing to customer portfolio at the end of last year, as its retail loans reached EGP 54.2 bn, while total customer loans EGP 134.2 bn by the end of December 2022.
ABK – Egypt came forth, after 35.29% of total customer loans were concentrated in Retail Banking department at the end of last year, as the bank’s total individual loans jumped to EGP12.2 bn, while total customer loans increased to EGP34.6 bn by the end of December 2022.
EGBANK came fifth, after its Retail Banking department contributed 30.03% to total customer loans, as its retail loans recorded EGP8.5 bn, while total customer loans recorded EGP 28.4 bn by the end of December 2022, followed by Credit Agricole Bank - Egypt with 28.77% by the end of the same period.
saib came in seventh place, after 26.20% of its customer loans were concentrated in Retail Banking department, which recorded EGP 11 bn, while total customer loans recorded EGP 41.8 bn by the end of December 2022.
aiBANK ranked eighth after its Retail banking department contributed 25.63% to its total customer loans, followed by Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank - Egypt in ninth place after its Retail banking department contributed 25.29% to its total customer loans, by the end of December 2022.
CIB ranked tenth after its Retail banking department contributed 24.37% to its total customer loans, reaching EGP218.6 bn, while Retail loan portfolio reached EGP53.3 bn by the end of December 2022.
It should be noted that contribution percentages and values mentioned above, are according to separate financial statements announced for each bank at the end of December 2022.
