CBE: Top 10 banks account for 75.05% of the banking sector net profits, recording EGP 94.240 bn

The Egyptian Central Bank revealed in its latest report that the top 10 banks operating in the Egyptian banking market recorded a net profit of EGP94.240 bn during the first half of 2023, while their net income reached approximately EGP 193.867 bn during the same period.
Top 10 banks captured about 75.05% of the net profits of the banking sector during the first half of 2023.
The financial statement of the top 10 banks showed an increase in their asset portfolio by approximately 22.25% during the first half of the current year, reaching EGP 10.950 tn by the end of June 2023, compared to EGP 8.957 tn by the end of 2022, an increase of EGP1.993 tn.
The portfolio of deposits of the top 10 banks increased by 10.85% during the first half of the current year, rising from EGP6.663 tn at the end of December 2022 to EGP7.386 tn by the end of June 2023.
