local currency accounts for 89.36% of aiBANK customers' loans by H1-2023 end

According to the bank's separate financial statements for the fiscal period ending on June 30, 2023, the bank's net loans to customers increased to EGP21.92 bn by the end of the first half of the current year, compared to EGP 19.33 bn by the end of 2022, with a growth rate of 13.38%, and an increase of EGP2.59 bn.

Looking at the details of Arab Investment Bank customers' net loans in different currencies, the local currency had the highest relative weight, constituting approximately 89.36% by the end of June 2023.

Bank's funding in EGP increased by about 10.54% to reach EGP 19.59 bn by the end of the first half of 2023, compared to EGP17.72 bn by the end of 2022, with an increase of EGP1.87 bn.

As for the bank's customers' loans in foreign currencies, they jumped to the equivalent of EGP 2.33 bn by the end of the second quarter of 2023, compared to the equivalent of EGP 1.61 bn by the end of 2022, with a growth rate of 44.51% and an increase of approximately EGP718.53 mn.

aiBANK customers' loans in foreign currencies constituted about 10.64% of the bank's net loans by the end of June 2023.

The bank's customers' loans in foreign currencies were distributed between two currencies, in US dollars, accounted for about 10.63% of the bank's net loans by the end of the second quarter of 2023.

aiBANK's funding in US dollars increased by about 45.76% to reach the equivalent of EGP2.33 bn by the end of the first half of 2023, compared to the equivalent of EGP1.6 bn by the end of 2022, with an increase of EGP731.66 mn.

As for the second currency, Euro accounted for about 0.01% of the bank's net loans by the end of the second quarter of 2023, after recording the equivalent of EGP2.15 mn by the end of the same period.
