Ahmed Jalal, one of Egypt's leading economic researchers

Dr. Ahmed Jalal is an economic researcher at the World Bank, former Minister of Finance under the Government of Hazem El Beblawi and Chairman of Middle East Health Policy Forum.
Jalal was born in November 1948 and has received many scientific degrees, at the local and international levels, where he received a bachelor's degree in business administration in 1973 from Cairo University, then he received a postgraduate degree in economics and finance from Ain Shams University. His major leap was his educational journey when he received his doctoral and master's degrees in economics from Boston University, United States, in 1986.
In addition, Jalal held many prestigious positions throughout his struggling journey, working as a researcher at the World Bank for more than 18 years; He also worked as an economic researcher in the Europe, Middle East and North Africa Departments, and also served as Managing Director of the Economic Research Forum.
He was also Director of the Egyptian Centre for Economic Studies and served as Minister of Finance in 2013 under the Government of Dr. Hazem El Beblawi, former Prime Minister.
Jalal has written several books in the field of Middle East economics, monetary and financial studies; as well as education; and many articles in both Arabic and English.
In recognition of his efforts, Jalal received many awards and honors during his career, including the Prize of Social Sciences from the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science in 2004.
