Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Thursday 2 May 2024 with increase in the market cap by 1.34% to record EGP 416.360 bn compared to EGP 410.843 bn at Yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 24.54% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 276.828 mn which represents 10.56% shares were exchanged capturing 0.91% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease and turnover amounted EGP 199.6 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose by 3.34%, to record 26.167 points EGX70 increased by 2.23% to record 5.819 points, and the broader index “EGX100” rose by 2.52% to record 8.344 points.
