First Bank List Of Top Banks In Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) During The first quarter of the current Year Revealed That Alex Bank Topped The List With A Capital Adequacy Ratio Of 25.40% By March 2024end.

The List Included 21 Banks Operating In The Egyptian Banking Sector, For Which Financial Statements, Showed 9 Of Banks Succeeded In Achieving A Capital Adequacy Rate Above The Prevailing Average In The Banking Sector Adequacy Ratio (CAR) Exceeding The Prevailing Sector Average Of 18.1% By The End Of March 2023, As Revealed In The Latest Statistical Bulletin Issued By The Central Bank Of Egypt.

All Banks Managed To Exceed The Minimum Threshold Set By The Central Bank For The Capital Adequacy Ratio, Which Is 12.5%. This Came After Local Banks Continued To Strengthen Their Capital Adequacy Ratios By The End Of The Financial Period Ending In March 2024, As Part Of Their Ongoing Efforts To Implement The Best International Practices And Basel Requirements.

CAR Reflects The Ratio Of A Bank's Capital Components To Its Risk-Weighted Assets, Indicating The Relationship Between The Bank's Capital Source And The Risks Associated With Its Assets And Other Operations. It Serves As A Measure Of The Bank's Solvency, Its Ability To Meet Its Obligations And Withstand Any Future Losses, With The Aim Of Protecting The Bank, Depositors, And Other Lenders.

Commercial International Bank- CIB Ranked Second, Recording CAR Of 25.20% By March 2024end, Followed By Housing And Development Bank In Third Place With 22% during The Same Period.

As For The Fourth Position, It Was Obtained By Faisal Islamic Bank, With CAR Of 21.78% By The End Of March 2024, Followed By Qatar National Bank-QNB With 21.54% During The Same Period.

AAIB Ranked Sixth After Recording CAR Of 21.33% By The End Of March 2024, While credit Agricole-Egypt Secured The Seventh Position With 20.23% By The End Of 2023.

saib Ranked Eighth With CAR Of 20.19%, Followed By Al Ahli Bank Of Kuwait 'ABK-Egypt' In The Ninth Position With 19.63% By The End Of March 2024.

NBK-Egypt Came In Tenth Place Among The Banks With CAR Of 17.71%, By The End Of March 2024, Followed By ABC Egypt, With CAR Of 17.20% During The Same Period.
