President El-Sisi issues a decree to re-appoint Hassan Abdalla as Governor of CBE

The Official Gazette today published a presidential decree of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to renew the mandate of Hassan Abdallah as Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt for another year for the third consecutive time starts on August 18, 2024. 

The Egyptian banking sector has seen a boom in its financial indicators since the appointment of Hassan Abdalla as Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt in August 2022, succeeding former Central Governor Tarek Amer. 

Hassan Abdalla has more than 40 years' banking experience in the banking and financial sector. The decree to appoint him as Governor of the Central Bank came after he resigned as Chairman of the Board of Directors of "United Media Services Company", which he managed in 2021.  

Abdalla has been the Chief Executive Officer of the AAIB for almost 16 years until 2018, following a significant series of development during which the Bank has witnessed significant progress in all its business indicators, as well as its constant keenness to offer unique products in the Egyptian market.
