Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Wednesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Wednesday 2 October 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 1.2% to record EGP 465.491bn compared to EGP 471.154bn at yesterday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 22.36% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to 263.319mn which represents 5.94% of the total trading volume today after 5.656 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.53% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease and turnover amounted EGP 151.7mn on shares.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 1.67% to reach 31.866 points EGX70 decrease by 2.24% to record 7.615 points, and the broader index “EGX100” rose by 2.04% to record 10.833 points.
