NBE acquires 25.1% of total mortgage loans, worth EGP 18.97 bn by the end of September 2024

A recent report by Mortgage Finance Fund revealed that the National Bank of Egypt had acquired 25.1% of the total mortgage loans granted by banks under the mortgage finance initiative to register EGP 18.971 bn by the end of September 2024, provided to 153.169 thousand customers.
May Abdel Hamid, Chairperson of the Mortgage Finance Fund, noted that the total loans provided by banks had risen to EGP 73.110 bn by the end of September 2024, through 22 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector.
The number of customers benefiting from mortgage loans granted by banks increased to 574,588 customers, so that banks accounted for 96.7% of total customers benefiting from mortgage loans during the past month
