Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Thursday 19 December 2024 with an increase in the market cap by 0.7% to record EGP 494.062 bn compared to EGP 490.782 bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 23.01% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

 The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to 901.281 mn which represents 23.75% of the total trading volume today after 17.797 million shares were exchanged capturing 1.90% of the total trading volume.

 The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease and turnover amounted EGP 58.2 mn on shares.

 The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” increases by 0.08% to reach 30.528 bpoints EGX70 increases by 0.11% to record 8.419 points, and the broader index “EGX100” rose by   0.05% to record 11.538 points.
