Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Monday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Monday 13 January 2025 with an decrease  in the market cap by 2.1% to record EGP 457.570 bn compared to EGP 467.376 bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 22.36% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

 The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to 487.063 mn which represents 12.70% of the total trading volume today after 10.260 million shares were exchanged capturing 1.19% of the total trading volume.

 The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease and turnover amounted EGP 58.2 mn on shares.

 The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” decrease by 2.46% to reach 29.587 points EGX70 decrease by 1.93% to record 8.261 points, and the broader index “EGX100” fell by   1.88% to record 11.362 points.
