Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Monday closing session
The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Monday with increase in the market cap by 2.73% or EGP 232.067 billion compared to EGP 225.889 billion at the end of Thursday session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 24.78% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 135.127 million which represents 8.29% of the total trading volume today after 4.078 billion shares were exchanged capturing 0.45 % of the total trading volume.
The indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Monday’s trading session on a collective rise, with the EGX30 main index soaring by 2.48% to 14,960.66 points. The EGX50 EWI gained 2.50% to 2,674.71 points.
Likewise, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI as well as EGX100 EWI closed higher by 2.65% to 2,876.3 points and by 2.74% to 4,259.19 points, respectively.
The turnover amounted to EGP 1.63 billion after 912.05 million shares were exchanged, while the market cap value totalled EGP 983.29 billion.
