Egypt’s banking sector market cap rose 2.49% on EGX closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Wednesday with an increase in the market cap by 2.49% or EGP 215.692 billion compared to EGP 210.460 billion yesterday.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 26.05% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

The turnoveron banking sector amounted to EGP 1.22 million after 34.13 billion shares were exchanged, which represents 35.29 % of the total trading volume.

The bench mark EGX30 closed with a slight increase of 0.57%, or 13,314 points.The EGX50 EWI went up by 0.18% to 2,282 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI as well as EGX100 EWI also closed higher by 0.32% to 2,583.12 points and by 0.10% to 3,740.62 points, respectively.

The Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 208.45 million and EGP 237.26 million, respectively. Meanwhile, the foreign traders were net sellers with EGP 445.72 million.
