SC Bank, HD Bank, and Alex Bank top the fastest growing banks in net profits during Q1-2025

First Bank list of banks operating in the Egyptian banking system with the fastest growth in net profits during the first quarter of 2025 revealed that Suez Canal Bank topped the list with a growth rate of 114.4%, after it was able to achieve net profits of 1.31 billion pounds during the first quarter of 2025, compared to 611.25 million pounds during the same period in 2024.

This list monitored the net profits of 24 banks operating in the Egyptian banking system for which financial data were available during the first quarter of 2025, and showed that 16 of them achieved positive growth rates in their net profits, while 8 banks recorded noticeable declines.

Returning to the list, the Housing and Development Bank seized second place, as its net profits increased by about 98.7%, recording 4.82 billion pounds during the first quarter of 2025, compared to 2.43 billion pounds during the same period in 2024.

The Bank of Alexandria came third, as its net profits jumped by about 73%, reaching 3.63 billion pounds during the first quarter of 2025, compared to 2.1 billion pounds during the same period in 2024.

Al Baraka Bank – Egypt came in fourth place, thanks to an increase in its net profits by about 72.8%, reaching 958.95 million pounds during the first 3 months of 2025, compared to 555.02 million pounds during the same period in 2024.

The United Bank ranked fifth, after its net profits jumped by about 67.8%, recording 740.24 million pounds during the first quarter of this year, compared to 441.10 million pounds during the same corresponding period in 2024.

Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank – Egypt «ADCB» ranked sixth, as its net profits increased by about 66.3%, reaching 1.51 billion pounds in the first quarter of 2025, compared to 909.68 million pounds in the same period in 2024.

The National Bank of Kuwait – Egypt «NBK-Egypt» came seventh, thanks to an increase in its net profits by about 53.8%, reaching 2 billion pounds during the first 3 months of 2025, compared to 1.3 billion pounds during the same corresponding period in 2024.

The Egyptian Gulf Bank «EGBANK» snatched eighth place, after its net profits jumped by about 45.4%, recording 781.45 million pounds in the first 3 months of 2025, compared to 537.49 billion pounds in the same period in 2024.
