EGBANK, SC Bank and saib top Fastest-growing listed banks in retail loans

First Bank list of banks listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange as the fastest growing retail banking during the first quarter of 2025 revealed that the Egyptian Gulf Bank «EGBANK» topped the list after its retail banking portfolios increased by an average of 17.9%, as a result of the rise in the retail loan portfolio to 21.79 billion pounds by the end of last March.With a growth of 35.8%, in addition to an increase in the volume of individual deposits to 26.16 billion, a growth of 6.3% during the same period this year.
The list, which included all 12 banks listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange, showed that 11 banks achieved positive growth rates, with the exception of one bank that achieved a noticeable decline in their total retail banking portfolio during the first quarter of 2025.
The rating was made according to a composite index developed by «First Bank» to measure the bank’s growth in its retail loan and retail deposit portfolios.
Returning to the list, Suez Canal Bank snatched second place, after its retail banking portfolio increased by an average of about 15% during the first quarter of 2025, as a result of the increase in the individual loan portfolio to 6.23 billion pounds at the end of last March, with a growth of 13.4%, while the volume of individual deposits at the bank reached 24.39 billion, with a growth of 15.5%.% during the same period this year.
The Arab International Banking Company Bank «saib» came third, with an average growth of about 14.9% in its total retail banking portfolio, as a result of the bank’s individual loan portfolio rising to 22.22 billion pounds, a growth of 12.4%, and the individual deposit portfolio rising to 46.42 billion, a growth of 16.2% during the period.The first 3 months of 2025.
Credit Agricole Bank-Egypt took fourth place, as its total retail banking portfolio increased by about 10.2% during the first quarter of this year, as a result of achieving an average growth of 8.6% in the individual loan portfolio to record 15.40 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, and an increase in the individual deposit portfolio to 36.49 billion, with a growth of 10.9% during the same period this year.
As for fifth place, it went to Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank-Egypt «ADIB Egypt» after its total retail banking portfolio jumped with an average growth of 10.1% during the first 3 months of 2025, as a result of the increase in the bank’s retail financing portfolio to 30.24 billion pounds by the end of last March, with a growth of 9.4%.%, in addition to an increase in its individual deposit portfolio to 95.72 billion, a growth of 10.3% during the same period this year.
It is worth noting that all the values and growth rates mentioned in the above analysis are in accordance with the independent financial statements announced for each bank at the end of March 2025.
