Emirates NBD, Bank NXT, and ABK - Egypt top fastest-growing banks in retail deposits during Q1-2025

First Bank list of banks with the fastest growth in individual deposits during the first quarter of 2025 revealed that Emirates NBD - Egypt topped the list, as its retail deposit portfolio jumped by about 20.6% during the first 3 months of this year, reaching 55.58 billion pounds by the end of last March.Compared to 46.1 billion pounds by the end of 2024.

The «First Bank» list monitored the size of retail deposit portfolios with 24 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, for which financial data was available during the period under analysis, and revealed that 23 banks achieved positive growth rates, while one bank recorded a noticeable decline during the first quarter of 2025.

Returning to the list, Bank NXT«seized second place, thanks to an increase in its portfolio of retail deposits by about 18.6% during the first 3 months of this year, reaching 25.45 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 21.45 billion pounds by the end of 2024.

Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait – Egypt «ABK–Egypt» won third place, after its portfolio of retail deposits rose by about 17.8% during the first quarter of 2025, reaching 39.98 billion pounds by the end of last March, compared to 33.93 billion pounds by the end of 2024.

Arab International Banking Company Bank «saib» ranked fourth, as its portfolio of retail deposits increased by about 16.2% during the first 3 months of 2025, reaching 46.42 billion pounds at the end of last March, compared to 39.95 billion pounds at the end of 2024.

Suez Canal Bank took fifth place, as its portfolio of retail deposits increased by about 15.5% during the first quarter of 2025, recording 24.39 billion pounds at the end of last March, compared to 21.13 billion pounds at the end of 2024.

The United Bank came sixth, with a growth rate of 11.1% during the first 3 months of 2025, with its retail deposit portfolio recording 41.06 billion pounds at the end of last March, compared to 36.97 billion pounds at the end of 2024.

Credit Agricole Bank - Egypt came in seventh place, as its portfolio of retail deposits jumped by about 10.9% during the first 3 months of this year, reaching 36.49 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 32.91 billion pounds by the end of 2024.

First Abu Dhabi Bank – Egypt «FABMISR» occupied eighth place, with a growth rate of 10.8% during the first quarter of this year, as its portfolio of retail deposits jumped to 63.43 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 57.25 billion pounds by the end of 2024.

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt «ADIB» dominated ninth place, after the volume of its deposits to retail jumped by about 10.3% during the first 3 months of 2025, recording 95.72 billion pounds at the end of March 2025, compared to 86.80 billion pounds at the end of 2024.

As for tenth place, it went to Kuwait Finance House Bank – Egypt, thanks to an increase in its retail deposits by about 10% during the first 3 months of 2025, reaching 28.17 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 25.61 billion pounds by the end of 2024.
