Al Baraka, KFH and SC Bank top fastest-growing private sector banks in personal loans in last 3 years

First Bank list of the fastest growing private sector banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector in personal finance in the last 3 years revealed that Al Baraka Bank topped the list, as its portfolio increased by about 544.3%, reaching 12.18 billion pounds by the end of 2024, compared to 1.89 billion pounds by the end of 2021.

The «First Bank» list monitored the total personal finance portfolio of 17 private banks operating in the Egyptian banking system for which financial data were available for the last 3 years (specifically from the end of 2021, until the end of 2024), and showed that they all achieved positive growth rates in their total personal loan portfolio in the last 3 years.

It is worth noting that the banks «ABC» and «FABMISR» achieved growth rates of 179.1% and 140% in the last 3 years as a result of the acquisitions that took place and were excluded from the classification for the accuracy of the comparison.

Returning to the list, Kuwait Finance House Bank - Egypt snatched second place, thanks to the increase in its portfolio of personal finance debtors by about 277.8% over the last 3 years, to record 4.25 billion pounds at the end of 2024, compared to 1.13 billion pounds at the end of 2021.

Suez Canal Bank came in third place, as its portfolio of personal loans jumped at a growth rate of 233.5% over the last 3 years, reaching 5.32 billion pounds by the end of 2024, compared to 1.59 billion pounds by the end of 2021. «HSBC» Bank came fourth, as its portfolio of personal loans jumped by about 183.4% over the last 3 years, reaching 11.73 billion pounds by the end of 2024, compared to 4.14 billion pounds at the end of 2021.

Bank NXT won fifth place, as its portfolio of personal loans jumped by about 182.1% over the last 3 years, recording 8.06 billion pounds at the end of 2024, compared to 2.86 billion pounds at the end of 2021.

Arab International Banking Company Bank «saib» ranked sixth, after the volume of its personal loans increased by about 176.4% over the last 3 years, recording 16.77 billion pounds by the end of 2024, compared to 6.07 billion pounds by the end of 2021.

Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait – Egypt «ABK – Egypt» seized seventh place, as its personal loan portfolio jumped by about 146.6% over the last 3 years, reaching 22.03 billion pounds by the end of 2024, compared to 8.93 billion pounds by the end of 2021.

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank-Egypt «ADIB Egypt» dominated eighth place, thanks to an increase in the size of its personal finance portfolio by about 106.7% over the last 3 years, reaching 25.77 billion pounds by the end of 2024, compared to 12.47 billion pounds by the end of 2021.

National Bank of Kuwait-Egypt «NBK – Egypt» came in ninth place, thanks to an increase in its personal loan portfolio by about 83.3% over the last 3 years, recording 14.82 billion pounds at the end of 2024, compared to 8.09 billion pounds at the end of 2021.

As for tenth place, it went to Qatar National Bank «QNB» Egypt, where its portfolio of personal loans jumped by about 75.5% over the last 3 years, reaching 50.94 billion pounds by the end of 2024, compared to 29.03 billion pounds by the end of 2021.
