Significant jump in «CIB» deposits in 4 years, Growth close to 193% and the portfolio is approaching EGP 1 tn

Commercial International Bank – Egypt «CIB» has significantly increased the volume of its deposits over the past 4 years, as it jumped to 996.12 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 340.09 billion pounds by the end of 2020, with a growth rate of 192.9%, and an increase exceeding 656 billion pounds.One pound, close to breaking the trillion pound barrier in its deposit portfolio for the first time in its history.

Tracking its journey over the period under analysis, we find that the highest annual growth rate witnessed by the portfolio and the highest value increase was during 2024, when the volume of bank customers’ deposits increased to 967.9 billion pounds by the end of 2024, compared to 675.31 billion pounds by the end of 2023, with a growth rate of 43.3%, and a total increase of 292.59 billion pounds.

As for the portfolio’s performance during the current year, it increased by about 2.9% in the first 3 months of 2025, reaching 996.12 billion pounds by the end of last March, compared to 967.9 billion pounds by the end of 2024.

In general, Commercial International Bank «CIB» achieved strong performance during the current year, as its net profits increased to 16.6 billion pounds during the first quarter of 2025, compared to 11.95 billion pounds during the same period in 2024, with a growth rate of 38.9%, and a total increase of 4.65 billion pounds.pound.  

Profit before income taxes jumped from 17.51 billion pounds during the first quarter of 2024, to 22.7 billion pounds during the same period in 2025, with a growth rate of 29.7%, and a total increase of 5.19 billion pounds.

Its total financial investments increased by about 11.8% during the first quarter of this year, reaching 447.41 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 400.31 billion pounds by the end of 2024, an increase of 47.11 billion pounds.

In terms of the bank’s financial position, its portfolio of assets increased by about 3.91% during the first quarter of this year, reaching 1.257 trillion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 1.209 trillion pounds by the end of 2024, a total increase of 47.336 billion pounds.

The bank's total loans to customers jumped by about 5% during the first quarter of this year, to record 409.2 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 389.58 billion pounds by the end of 2024, including 328.44 billion pounds for institutions, and 80.76 billion pounds for individuals.
