CIB tops private sector banks in strengthening its corporate loans portfolio in last 3 years

Commercial International Bank – Egypt «CIB» has expanded its credit to corporates (including microloans for economic activities) significantly over the past 3 years, as evidenced by the rise in its portfolio of institutional financing to EGP 310.20 billion by the end of 2024, compared to EGP 122.02 billion by the end of 2021, with a growth rate of 154.2% and a total increase of EGP 188.18 billion.
This strong performance prompted the bank to top «First Bank» index of the private sector banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, strengthening institutional financing portfolios in the last 3 years.
The bank's corporate loan portfolio has witnessed continuous increases over the past 3 years, rising by EGP 43.32 billion in 2022, then rising by EGP 39.69 billion in 2023, followed by a strong jump estimated at EGP 105.17 billion in 2024.
As for the portfolio's performance during the current year, it rose to 381.90 billion pounds at the end of June 2025, compared to 310.20 billion pounds at the end of 2024, with a growth rate of 23.1%, with a total increase of 71.69 billion pounds.
Overall, the Commercial International Bank «CIB» achieved strong performance during the current year, as its net profits rose to EGP 33.41 billion during the first half of 2025, compared to EGP 27.68 billion during the same period in 2024, with a growth rate of 20.7% and a total increase of EGP 5.73 billion.
Profits before income taxes jumped to EGP 46.40 billion during the first 6 months of 2025, compared to EGP 38.56 billion during the same period in 2024, with a growth rate of 20.3%.
Regarding the bank's financial position, its portfolio of assets increased by about 8.7% during the first half of this year, reaching 1.31 trillion pounds by the end of June 2025, compared to 1.21 trillion pounds by the end of 2024.
Its portfolio of customer deposits jumped to EGP 1.04 trillion by the end of June 2025, compared to EGP 967.90 billion by the end of 2024, a growth rate of 7.5% and an increase of EGP 72.34 billion.
Its total loans to customers increased by about 19.8% during the first half of this year, reaching EGP 466.81 billion by the end of June 2025, compared to EGP 389.57 billion by the end of 2024, a total increase of EGP 77.24 billion.
