EGP index losses 8.879 points over a week recording on 57.617 on Thursday
The Egyptian pound index declined 8.879 points against the major currencies over the week where it fell to 57.617, compared to 66.496 points a week earlier.
The Egyptian pound index declines against a basket of seven major currencies that measures the performance of the pound. It fell against the Saudi Dollar, US dollar the Chinese yuan, the Euro and the UAE Dirham, Pound Sterling and the Japanese Yen.
The average selling rate of the US dollar in Egypt rose from EGP27.16 to EGP 29.61 in the week's trading, while the average Buying price rose from EGP 27.07 to EGP 29.52
The average selling rate of the Euro in Egypt rose from EGP 28.83 to EGP 31.89 over the week's trading, while the average buying rate rose from EGP 28.72 to EGP 29.52.
The average rate of the Saudi riyal in Egypt rose from EGP 7.23 at the end of last week's trading to EGP 7.88 on Thursday, while the buying price rose from EGP 7.20 to EGP 7.85 at the end of today's trading.
The average selling rate of the UAE dirham in Egypt rose from 7.39 pounds to 8.06 pounds at the end of the day's trading, while buying price increased from 7.37 pounds to 8.03 pounds.
The average rate of the Chinese Yuan in Egypt rose from EGP 3.95 pounds to EGP 4.38, while the buying rate increased from EGP 3.93 to EGP 4.37.
The average rate of the Pound Sterling in Egypt increased from EGP 32.68 to EGP 25.96 in today's dealings, while the average buying price increased from EGP 32.57 to EGP 35.83.
