CIB, HSBC and QNB-Egypt top fastest growing private sector banks in credit cards in last 3 years

First Bank’s list of the fastest growing banks in credit cards For the Last 3 Years revealed that Commercial International Bank-Egypt topped the list with an increase amount of 9.31 billion pound over 3 years, as its credit card balances increased to 15.03 billion pounds by the end of 2024, compared to 5.72 billion pounds by the end of 2021.

The First Bank list monitored the return on average assets of 20 private banks operating in the  Egyptian banking system for which financial statements were available for the last 3 years, specifically for the years 2024, 2023 and 2022, and showed that they all achieved positive rates of credit cards.

Returning to the list, HSBC Bank took second place, thanks to an increase in its credit card balances by about 2.96 billion Pound in the last 3 years, reaching 4.5 billion pounds at the end of 2024, compared to 1,55 billion pounds at the end of 2021.

Qatar National Bank Egypt «QNB-Egypt» came third, as its credit card balances jumped by about 1.3 billion pound over 3 years, reaching 2.71 billion pounds by the end of 2024, compared to 1.31 billion pounds by the end of 2021.

Emirates NBD Egypt took fourth place, after the volume of its credit card balances increased by about 1.28 billion pound over 3 years, recording 1.35 billion pounds at the end of 2024, compared to 69.58 million pounds at the end of 2021.

arab african international bank came fifth, thanks to an increase in its credit card balances by about 1.23 billion pound in the last 3 years, reaching 1.51 billion pounds by the end of 2024, compared to 277,25 million pounds by the end of 2021.

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank «ADIB Egypt» came in sixth place, as the volume of its credit card balances increased by about 740.08 million pound in the last 3 years, reaching 1.28 billion pounds at the end of 2024, compared to 536.81 million pounds at the end of 2021.

Alex Bank dominated seventh place, thanks to an increase in its credit card balances by about 718.63 million pound in the last 3 years, recording 1.06 billion pounds by the end of 2024, compared to 343.69 million pounds by the end of 2021.

First Abu Dhabi Bank Egypt «FABMISR» won eighth place, after the volume of its credit card balances jumped by about 702.74 million pound over 3 years, reaching 1.39 billion pounds at the end of 2024, compared to 689.92 million pounds at the end of 2021.

Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait – Egypt «ABK – Egypt» ranked ninth, as its credit card balances increased by about 634.33 million pound over the past 3 years, recording 861.864 million pounds by the end of 2024, compared to 227.53 million pounds by the end of 2021.

As for tenth place, it went to National Bank of Kuwait «NBK – Egypt», thanks to an increase in the volume of its credit card balances by about 612.49 million pounds during the past 3 years, reaching 792.99 million pounds at the end of 2024, compared to 180.50 million pounds in 2021.
