EBank, Faisal Islamic Bank, and Credit Agricole lead listed banks in asset coverage ratio for deposits by end of June 2025

First Bank list of the best banks listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange in terms of asset coverage rate for deposits at the end of first half of 2025 revealed that the Egyptian Export Development Bank «EBank» topped, after its asset coverage rate for deposits reached 137.11%, as the volume of its assets reached EGP 188.78 bn, while the volume of its deposits recorded EGP 137.69 bn by the end of June 2025.
The list, which included all 12 banks listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange, showed that all banks enjoyed strong rates of covering their customers’ deposits by the end of June 2025.
The asset coverage index for deposits expresses the ability of banks to cover their customers’ deposits using their asset portfolios, and is classified according to the rate (assets/deposits) × 100.The higher the value of the rate, the more this indicates a high level of security that the bank provides to its depositor customers of various segments.
Returning to the list, Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt took second place, with an asset coverage rate for deposits of 131.98%, after the size of its asset portfolio reached EGP 248.43 bn, while the size of its clients’ deposit portfolio recorded EGP 188.23 bn by the end of June 2025.
Credit Agricole Bank ranked third with an asset coverage rate for deposits of 129.79%, as the volume of its assets reached EGP 134.85 bn by the end of June 2025, while the volume of its deposits reached EGP 103.89 bn at the end of the same period.
Suez Canal Bank-Egypt occupied fourth place with a coverage rate of 129.77% by the end of June 2025, as the bank’s assets reached EGP 227.32 bn, while its deposit portfolio recorded EGP 175.17 bn at the end of the same year.
As for fifth place, was taken by the United Bank, with an asset coverage rate for deposits of 128.36%, after the bank’s assets recorded EGP 89.49 bn, while its customer deposit portfolio recorded EGP 69.71 bn by the end of June 2025.
