EGP index increased against a basket of major currencies to 40.009 points at today's trading

The Egyptian pound index rose against major currencies by the end of trading on Thursday, October 30, 2025, with the index value increasing to 40.009 points, compared to 39.879 points at the close of Wednesday’s session.
The rise in the pound’s index came as a result of its appreciation against the U.S. dollar, euro, British pound, Japanese yen, Chinese yuan, UAE dirham, and Saudi riyal by the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the U.S. dollar fell from EGP 47.35 to EGP 47.27, while the average buying price declined from EGP 47.25 to EGP 47.17 at the close of trading.
The average selling price of the euro decreased from EGP 55.08 to EGP 54.84, and the average buying price dropped from EGP 54.96 to EGP 54.71 by the end of the session.
The average selling price of the British pound fell from EGP 62.59 to EGP 62.29, while the average buying price declined from EGP 62.43 to EGP 62.15 by the close of trading.
The average selling price of the Japanese yen dropped from EGP 31.09 to EGP 30.68, while the average buying price declined from EGP 31.01 to EGP 30.62 at the end of the day.
The average selling price of the Chinese yuan declined from EGP 6.66 to EGP 6.64, while the average buying price in Egypt fell from EGP 6.65 to EGP 6.63 by the close of trading.
The average selling price of the UAE dirham decreased from EGP 12.89 to EGP 12.87, while the average buying price fell from EGP 12.86 to EGP 12.84 at the end of the day.
The Saudi riyal also fell from EGP 12.62 to EGP 12.60, while the average buying price declined from EGP 12.59 to EGP 12.57 by the close of Thursday’s trading session.
