Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Wednesday closing

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Wednesday 12 November 2025 with a decrease in the market cap by 0.08% to record EGP 645.73 bn compared to EGP 464.24 bn at Yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 23.03% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to 627.55 Mn which represents 10.45% of the total trading volume today after 15.95 million shares were exchanged capturing 1.13% of the total trading volume.

The Egyptian Exchange closed Wednesday trading session with a decline in the main index EGX30, while both the EGX70 and EGX100 indices ended higher, amid net foreign buying worth EGP 130.2 million.

The EGX30 main index fell by 0.08% to close at 40,619 points, whereas the EGX70 index, which tracks medium-sized stocks, rose by 0.58% to 12,248 points. Meanwhile, the broader EGX100 EWI index increased by 0.75%, closing at 16,261 points.
