EGP index increased against a basket of major currencies to 40.044 points at today's trading

The Egyptian pound index rose against major currencies by the end of trading on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, as the index value increased to 40.044 points, compared to 40.043 points at the end of trading on Tuesday.

The rise in the pound’s index came as a result of its appreciation against the British pound and the Japanese yen, while it declined against the U.S. dollar, euro, and Chinese yuan, and remained stable against the UAE dirham and the Saudi riyal by the end of the day.

The average selling price of the British pound fell from EGP 62.16 to EGP 62.01, while the average buying price decreased from EGP 62.02 to EGP 61.86 by the end of trading.

The average selling price of the Japanese yen dropped from EGP 30.64 to EGP 30.55, while the average buying price decreased from EGP 30.57 to EGP 30.48 by the end of the day.

Meanwhile, the average selling price of the U.S. dollar inched up from EGP 47.26 to EGP 47.27, and the average buying price rose from EGP 47.16 to EGP 47.17 by the end of trading.

The average selling price of the euro increased from EGP 54.70 to EGP 54.74, while the average buying price rose from EGP 54.58 to EGP 54.61 by the end of the day.

The average selling price of the Chinese yuan rose slightly from EGP 6.63 to EGP 6.64, while the average buying price remained stable at EGP 6.62 by the end of trading.

The average selling price of the UAE dirham remained unchanged at EGP 12.87, while the average buying price also stabilized at EGP 12.84 by the end of the day.

Similarly, the average selling price of the Saudi riyal remained stable at EGP 12.60, with the average buying price steady at EGP 12.57 by the end of trading.
