EGP index decreased against a basket of major currencies to 39.644 points at today's trading

The Egyptian pound index declined against major currencies by the end of trading today, Monday, 24 November 2025, as the index fell to 39.644 points by the end of today’s trading, compared with 39.772 points at the end of yesterday’s Sunday session.
The decline in the pound index came as a result of its depreciation against the US dollar, the euro, the British pound, the Japanese yen, the Chinese yuan, the UAE dirham, and the Saudi riyal by the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the US dollar increased from 47.67 pounds to 47.81 pounds by the end of today’s trading, and the average buying price rose from 47.57 pounds to 47.71 pounds at the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the euro increased from 54.89 pounds to 55.18 pounds by the end of today’s trading, and the average buying price rose from 54.76 pounds to 55.06 pounds at the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the British pound increased from 62.43 pounds to 62.62 pounds by the end of today’s trading, and the average buying price rose from 61.28 pounds to 62.48 pounds by the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the Japanese yen also increased from 30.48 pounds to 30.49 pounds by the end of today’s trading, while the average buying price remained stable at 30.42 pounds at the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the Chinese yuan increased from 6.70 pounds to 6.72 pounds by the end of today’s trading, and the average buying price in Egypt rose from 6.69 pounds to 6.71 pounds at the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the UAE dirham increased from 12.98 pounds to 13.01 pounds by the end of today’s trading, and the average buying price rose from 12.95 pounds to 12.98 pounds by the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the Saudi riyal increased from 12.66 pounds to 12.71 pounds by the end of today’s trading, and the average buying price rose from 12.63 pounds to 12.68 pounds by the end of today’s trading.
