EGP index increased against a basket of major currencies to 39.659 points at today's trading

The Egyptian Pound Index recorded an increase against major currencies at the end of trading on Thursday, 27 November 2025, as the index rose to 39.659 points at the end of today’s session, compared to 39.634 points at the end of yesterday’s trading on Wednesday.
The rise in the pound index came as a result of its appreciation against the US dollar, Chinese yuan, UAE dirham, and Saudi riyal, while it declined against the British pound and the Japanese yen, and remained stable against the euro by the end of today’s session.
The average selling price of the US dollar decreased from EGP 47.76 to EGP 47.69 by the end of today’s trading, while the average buying price fell from EGP 47.66 to EGP 47.59.
The average selling price of the Chinese yuan declined from EGP 6.74 to EGP 6.73, while the average buying price dropped from EGP 6.73 to EGP 6.71 by the end of trading.
The average selling price of the UAE dirham fell from EGP 13.00 to EGP 12.98, while the average buying price decreased from EGP 12.97 to EGP 12.95 at the end of today’s session.
Similarly, the average selling price of the Saudi riyal declined from EGP 12.73 to EGP 12.71, while the average buying price fell from EGP 12.70 to EGP 12.68 by the close of trading.
Meanwhile, the average selling price of the British pound increased from EGP 62.81 to EGP 63.11, and the average buying price rose from EGP 62.68 to EGP 62.97 by the end of today’s session.
The average selling price of the Japanese yen also increased from EGP 30.50 to EGP 30.51, while the average buying price rose from EGP 30.43 to EGP 30.45 at the end of trading.
As for the euro, the average selling price remained unchanged at EGP 55.27, while the average buying price declined slightly from EGP 55.15 to EGP 55.14 by the end of today’s session.
