EGP index decreased against a basket of major currencies to 39.629 points at today's trading

The Egyptian pound index recorded a decline against major currencies at the end of today’s trading, Tuesday, December 9, 2025, as the index value dropped to 39.629 points, compared to 39.678 points at the end of yesterday’s trading, Monday.

The decline in the pound index came as a result of its depreciation against the US dollar, euro, British pound, Chinese yuan, UAE dirham, and Saudi riyal, while it appreciated against the Japanese yen by the end of today’s trading.

The average selling price of the US dollar increased from EGP 47.58 to EGP 47.65, while the average buying price rose from EGP 47.48 to EGP 47.55 by the end of today’s session.

The average selling price of the euro rose from EGP 55.43 to EGP 55.45, and the average buying price increased from EGP 55.31 to EGP 55.33 by the end of today’s trading.

The average selling price of the British pound increased from EGP 63.38 to EGP 63.50, while the average buying price rose from EGP 63.22 to EGP 63.34 by the end of today’s session.

The average selling price of the Chinese yuan increased from EGP 6.73 to EGP 6.74, and the average buying price in Egypt rose from EGP 6.71 to EGP 6.73 by the end of today’s trading.

The average selling price of the UAE dirham increased from EGP 12.95 to EGP 12.97, while the average buying price rose from EGP 12.92 to EGP 12.94 by the end of today’s session.

The average selling price of the Saudi riyal rose from EGP 12.67 to EGP 12.70, and the average buying price increased from EGP 12.64 to EGP 12.67 by the end of today’s trading.

Meanwhile, the average selling price of the Japanese yen declined from EGP 30.57 to EGP 30.50, and the average buying price decreased from EGP 30.50 to EGP 30.42 by the end of today’s session.
