EGP index decreased against a basket of major currencies to 39.610 points at today's trading

The Egyptian pound index declined against major currencies by the end of trading on Thursday, December 11, 2025, as the index fell to 39.610 points by the end of today’s trading, compared to 39.619 points at the end of yesterday, Wednesday.
The decline in the pound index came as a result of its depreciation against the euro, the British pound, and the Japanese yen, while it rose against the US dollar, the Chinese yuan, the UAE dirham, and the Saudi riyal by the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the euro increased from 55.49 pounds to 55.75 pounds by the end of today’s trading, and the average buying price rose from 55.37 pounds to 55.62 pounds by the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the British pound rose from 63.50 pounds to 63.71 pounds by the end of today’s trading, and the average buying price rose from 63.33 pounds to 63.56 pounds by the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the Japanese yen also increased from 30.42 pounds to 30.56 pounds by the end of today’s trading, and the average buying price rose from 30.35 pounds to 30.49 pounds by the end of today’s trading.
Meanwhile, the average selling price of the US dollar declined from 47.67 pounds to 47.58 pounds by the end of today’s trading, and the average buying price fell from 47.57 pounds to 47.48 pounds by the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the Chinese yuan dropped from 6.75 pounds to 6.74 pounds by the end of today’s trading, and the average buying price in Egypt decreased from 6.73 pounds to 6.72 pounds by the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the UAE dirham also declined from 12.98 pounds to 12.95 pounds by the end of today’s trading, and the average buying price decreased from 12.95 pounds to 12.92 pounds by the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the Saudi riyal dropped from 12.70 pounds to 12.68 pounds by the end of today’s trading, and the average buying price decreased from 12.67 pounds to 12.65 pounds by the end of today’s trading.
