CBE: more than 4,000 ATMs specially equipped for differently abled people
Banks operating in Egypt have provided more than 4 thousand ATMs with appropriate lighting and prominent numbers the same as Braille way to facilitate the blind and visually impaired, upon the directives of Central Bank of Egypt in September 2021, regarding facilitating the access of people with disabilities to banking services and products.
The banks have also launched special programs to motivate and encourage differently abled people to benefit from various banking products such as loans and debit cards including Meeza card and credit cards .
The PWDs can now also follow up on their accounts using their mobile phones after each transaction. The banks can also provide account statements upon their requests, including, for example, printing in Braille or in Audio CD format, and updating procedures and systems to accept stamps and fingerprints as an alternative to signing all banking procedures. The banks also offer home visits by their employees for people of determination to complete all their banking services.
These facilities represent an unprecedented success in providing banking services to people of determination in the Egyptian market, as part of the Central Bank's continuous efforts to enhance financial inclusion and serve all segments of society with fairness and transparency.
