Hisham Ezz Al-Arab Named in First Bank’s List of Top Egyptian Banking Executives for 2025

At a time of intensifying challenges within the banking sector, Hisham Ezz Al-Arab has been recognized by First Bank as one of Egypt’s premier executive leaders.

He led the Commercial International Bank (CIB) to further strengthen its position as the largest private-sector bank in Egypt, while driving the launch of competitive products and services tailored to meet diverse customer needs.

He also led the bank to rank among the top 50 banks in the Middle East and North Africa, reflecting its strong performance, expansion strategy, and growing regional presence.

During 2025, the bank delivered a strong financial performance, recording a Net Profit of EGP 81.81 bn, reflecting a growth rate of 47.6% and an absolute increase of EGP 26.38 bn.

Pre-tax profits also witnessed robust growth, rising to EGP 110.95 bn, representing an increase of 43.3% and an absolute growth of EGP 33.55 bn.

The bank’s core income streams showed solid momentum, as Net Interest Income grew by 18.1% to reach EGP 107.22 bn, reflecting an absolute increase of EGP 16.41 bn.

Meanwhile, Net Fees and Commissions Income increased to EGP 9.16 bn, marking a growth rate of 29.6% and an absolute increase of EGP 2.09 bn.

Balance Sheet Expansion

On the financial position front, the bank’s total assets expanded by 18.8% during 2025, reaching EGP 1.44 tn by year-end.

Customer deposits grew to EGP 1.11 tn, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 14.2%.

Additionally, the bank’s net loans portfolio recorded strong growth of 47.6%, reaching EGP 503.36 bn, with an absolute increase of EGP 162.41 bn.
