Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Monday closing

Closed the banking sector on the Egyptian Exchange at the end of trading on monday 6 April 2026, with an Increase in the sector’s market capitalization by 0.39% reaching EGP 808.26 billion at the close of today’s session, compared to EGP 805.11 billion at the close of last sunday’s session.
The banking sector’s market capitalization represented 24.86% of the total market capitalization today, which is the highest percentage among all sectors listed on the exchange.
The trading value of banking sector shares amounted to EGP 696.99 million, representing 9.20% of the total trading value on the exchange today. A total of 13.62 million shares were traded in the sector, accounting for 0.51% of the total trading volume of the exchange today.
The Egyptian Exchange closed today’s session with a broad-based rise across its main indices, supported by net foreign buying worth EGP 258.8 million.
The main index “EGX30” Increased by 0.79% to 47.651 points, and “EGX70” rose by 0.38% to 12.895 points, and “EGX100” rose by 0.45% to 17.978 points.
