«ABK-Egypt» Tops the Fastest-Growing Foreign Banks in Net Fee and Commission Income, Reflecting Its Efficiency in Expanding Banking Service Revenues

The «First Bank» ranking of the fastest-growing foreign banks operating in Egypt in terms of net fee and commission income over the last 5 years (from the end of 2020 to the end of 2025) revealed that «ABK-Egypt» ranked first, with an average growth rate of 55.40%. Its net fee and commission income increased to EGP 1.36 billion during 2025, compared to EGP 239.62 million in 2020.

«ADCB-Egypt» ranked second, achieving an average growth rate of 53.28% over the last 5 years, as its net fee and commission income increased to EGP 1.33 billion in 2025, compared to EGP 163.13 million in 2020.

«ADIB-Egypt» secured third place, with an average growth rate of 44.05% over the last 5 years, after its net fee and commission income rose to EGP 2.71 billion in 2025, compared to EGP 457.78 million in 2020.

The «First Bank» ranking tracked the development of net fee and commission income at 12 foreign banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector for which financial data was available. The results showed that all banks achieved positive average growth rates over the last 5 years.

At the level of Gulf banks, the data showed that they captured 4 positions among the top 5, with «ABK-Egypt» ranking first, «ADCB-Egypt» in second place, «ADIB-Egypt» in third place, and «Al Baraka Bank Egypt» ranking fourth.

Regarding Islamic banks, they secured two positions among the top 5 out of the 3 Islamic banks included in the ranking, namely «ADIB-Egypt» and «Al Baraka Bank Egypt».

The ranking highlighted the continued diversification of foreign banks’ revenue streams through non-lending banking activities, as net fee and commission income at 12 foreign banks increased to EGP 25.79 billion by the end of 2025, recording a 33.21% growth over the last five years. This reflects the growing contribution of banking and digital services to revenue structures, as well as banks’ success in diversifying income sources and enhancing profitability quality away from full reliance on net interest income.

It is worth noting that all figures and growth rates mentioned in the above analysis are based on the standalone financial statements announced by each bank as of the end of 2025.
