«HSBC» و«Emirates NBD» و«ADIB» are the fastest-growing banks in assets after neutralizing exchange rate effects during Q1 2026
The «First Bank» ranking of the fastest-growing banks by assets after neutralizing exchange rate effects during the first quarter of 2026 revealed that «HSBC» topped the list, achieving an exchange rate-adjusted growth rate of 13% during the first three months of 2026, after its total assets portfolio reached EGP 416.04 billion by the end of March 2026. Emirates NBD – Egypt ranked second, with an exchange rate-adjusted growth rate of 11% during the first three months of 2026, after its assets portfolio reached EGP 237.47 billion by the end of March 2026. Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt secured third place, with an exchange rate-adjusted growth rate of 9.6% during the first three months of 2026, after its assets portfolio reached EGP 392.15 billion by the end of March 2026. This ranking reflects the actual growth of banks’ asset portfolios operating within the Egyptian banking sector during the first three months of 2026. It is worth noting that the «First Bank» ranking of the fastest-growing banks by assets after neutralizing exchange rate effects included 23 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector for which the required financial data were available. The ranking showed that 7 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector successfully maintained their positions among the top ten fastest-growing banks before and after neutralizing exchange rate effects during Q1 2026. These banks are: «HSBC», «Emirates NBD», «ADIB», Suez Canal Bank, «NBK», «QNB Egypt», and «EGBANK». Islamic banks secured one position among the top ten fastest-growing banks by assets after neutralizing exchange rate effects, with Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank ranking third. At the level of foreign banking groups operating in Egypt, they captured 7 positions among the top ten fastest-growing banks, including: «HSBC», «Emirates NBD», «ADIB», «NBK», «QNB Egypt», «ABK – Egypt», and «AlexBank». On the other hand, «ABK – Egypt» achieved the largest leap in the ranking of the fastest-growing banks by assets after neutralizing exchange rate effects, advancing 16 positions, moving from 24th place before neutralization to 8th place after neutralization.
