Top 10 Banks Generate $11.25 Billion in Profits During Q1 2026, Up 2.2%

Top 10 Most Profitable Arab Banks Account for 57% of Total Profits Reported by Banks in the Ranking

 «First Bank» ranking of the 100 Most Profitable Arab Banks for the first quarter of 2026 revealed that the top 10 banks accounted for approximately 57% of the total profits generated by all banks included in the ranking.

The combined net profits of the top 10 banks reached approximately $11.25 billion during the first quarter of 2026, compared with $11.01 billion in the corresponding period of 2025, representing a year-on-year growth rate of 2.2%.

The ranking was based on each bank's reported net profit, converted into U.S. dollars to provide a standardized basis for comparison across banking institutions. Banks without officially disclosed financial data were excluded to ensure the accuracy and credibility of the ranking methodology.

The ranking covers parent banking groups across the Arab world and excludes their foreign subsidiaries.

Among the top 10 banks, Al Rajhi Bank climbed to first place from third in March 2025, supported by a 14.4% increase in net profit to $1.80 billion during the first quarter of 2026, compared with $1.58 billion a year earlier.

Emirates NBD slipped to second place despite increasing its net profit to approximately $1.75 billion in the first quarter of 2026, up from $1.69 billion in the first quarter of 2025, representing annual growth of 3.1%.

Saudi National Bank (SNB) also moved down one position to third place, despite reporting net profit of $1.71 billion during the first quarter of 2026, compared with $1.60 billion in the corresponding period of 2025, reflecting year-on-year growth of 7.4%.

First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) maintained fourth place despite a 2% decline in net profit, which stood at $1.37 billion during the first three months of 2026, compared with $1.40 billion in the same period of 2025.

Qatar National Bank (QNB) retained fifth place, reporting net profit of approximately $1.21 billion during the first quarter of 2026, compared with $1.19 billion in the first quarter of 2025, representing annual growth of 1.7%.

Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) advanced to sixth place from seventh, recording the strongest profit growth among the top 10 banks as its net profit surged by 37.4% to $915 million during the first quarter of 2026, compared with $666 million a year earlier.

Kuwait Finance House (KFH) climbed to seventh place from ninth in the March 2025 ranking after its net profit increased by 16.1% year-on-year to $714 million during the first quarter of 2026, compared with $615 million.

Riyad Bank maintained its eighth-place ranking despite posting a 5.1% year-on-year increase in net profit to $696 million during the first quarter of 2026, compared with $663 million.

Saudi Awwal Bank (SAB) advanced to ninth place from tenth in March 2025, despite reporting a 2.4% year-on-year decline in net profit to $556 million, compared with $569 million during the first quarter of 2025.

Mashreq Bank completed the top 10 after climbing three positions to tenth place, supported by a 7.5% year-on-year increase in net profit to $525 million during the first quarter of 2026, compared with $488 million.
