EGBANK, E-Bank, and Emirates NBD Are the Most Efficient Banks in Resource Utilization Rate as of End of March 2026

The «First Bank» list of the most efficient banks in terms of resource deployment by the end of March 2026 revealed that the Egyptian Gulf Bank «EGBANK» ranked first, with a deployment ratio of 97.63%. This performance was driven by the bank’s success in allocating EGP 130.68 bn of its traditional resources into customer loans and financial investments portfolios by the end of March, while its total traditional resources reached EGP 133.85 bn during the same period.
Export Development Bank of Egypt «EBank» ranked second, with a deployment ratio of 96.07%, after successfully allocating EGP 176.42 bn of its traditional resources into customer financing and financial investments portfolios by the end of March 2026. The bank’s total traditional resources amounted to approximately EGP 183.64 bn during the same period.
Emirates NBD Egypt secured the third position, recording a deployment ratio of 93.46%, as it allocated EGP 194.57 bn of its traditional resources into customer financing and financial investments portfolios by the end of March 2026, while its total traditional resources stood at EGP 208.19 bn during the same period.
This indicator, launched by the research center of «First Bank», measures the deployment of traditional resources (customer deposits + equity) into (loans + financial investments) across 25 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector by the end of 2025.
The ranking also showed that 8 banks successfully maintained their positions among the top 10 compared to the 2025 ranking. These banks are: «EGBANK», «EBank», «Emirates NBD Egypt», «Al Baraka Bank», «FABMISR», «NBK-Egypt»,Commercial International Bank «CIB», and «United Bank».
Meanwhile, the top 10 list by the end of March 2026 witnessed the entry of two banks. Kuwait Finance House jumped to 5th place by the end of March 2026, compared to 14th place at the end of 2025.
Additionally, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt advanced to 8th place by the end of March, compared to 12th place in 2025.
At the sector level, the resource deployment ratio across the 25 banks reached 82.14% by the end of March.
On the other hand, 3 Islamic banks succeeded in securing positions among the top 10 out of 4 Islamic banks included in the ranking. «Al Baraka Bank» ranked fourth, «Kuwait Finance House» came fifth, and «Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt» ranked eighth on the list.
It is worth noting that all figures mentioned in the above analysis are based on the standalone financial statements announced by each bank as of the end of March 2026.
