NBK Egypt Claims the Top Spot, Rising from Third Place in the 2025 Ranking
Total assets of 10 Gulf banks operating in the Egyptian market reached 3.25 EGP tn, growing 10.8% in Q1 2026

QNB Egypt remains the largest Gulf bank by assets, while FABMISR ranks second
The First Bank ranking tracking the development of asset portfolios at Gulf banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector during Q1 2026 revealed that NBK Egypt topped the list after its asset portfolio grew by approximately 14.6% during Q1 2026, reaching 257.71 EGP bn at the end of March 2026, compared with 224.86 EGP bn at the end of 2025.
Emirates NBD Egypt ranked second, with its asset portfolio increasing by approximately 14.4% to reach 237.47 EGP bn in Q1 2026, compared with 207.53 EGP bn at the end of 2025.
Meanwhile, ADIB Egypt ranked third, with its total assets rising by approximately 13.9% to 392.15 EGP bn at the end of March 2026, compared with 344.15 EGP bn at the end of 2025.
The First Bank ranking tracked the development of asset portfolios at 10 Gulf banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector for which financial data were available. The results showed that all banks recorded positive growth rates during Q1 2026.
Meanwhile, the total assets of the 10 Gulf banks operating in the Egyptian market reached 3.25 EGP tn at the end of March 2026, representing a 10.8% increase from 2.94 EGP tn at the end of 2025.
QNB Egypt maintained its position as the largest Gulf bank by asset size, with total assets reaching 1.03 EGP tn at the end of March 2026, while FABMISR ranked second with assets of approximately 532.96 EGP bn at the end of the same period.
Meanwhile, three Gulf banks maintained their positions among the top five between 2025 and March 2026: NBK Egypt, Emirates NBD Egypt and ADIB Egypt.
