CIB Maintains Its Position as the Largest Listed Egyptian Bank by Customer Deposits, with QNB in Second Place
The First Bank ranking of the fastest-growing Egyptian banks listed on the stock exchange in terms of customer deposits during the first half of 2026 revealed that The United Bank topped the list, as its customer deposit portfolio surged by approximately 20.8%, reaching 91.58 EGP bn at the end of June 2026, compared with 75.82 EGP bn at the end of 2025.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank–Egypt ranked second, with its customer deposits increasing by 19.6% during H1 2026 to reach 332.67 EGP bn at the end of June, compared with 278.09 EGP bn at the end of 2025.
Meanwhile, Commercial International Bank ranked third, with its customer deposits growing by approximately 18% during the first six months of 2026, reaching 1.30 EGP tn at the end of June, compared with 1.11 EGP tn at the end of 2025.
The ranking, which covered all 12 banks listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange, showed that all banks recorded positive growth in their customer deposit portfolios during H1 2026.
The data also revealed that ADIB–Egypt and Credit Agricole continued to rank among the five fastest-growing listed Egyptian banks in customer deposits during H1 2026, as well as in 2025.
ADIB–Egypt maintained its second-place position, while Credit Agricole retained fifth place, underscoring the continued strength of both banks in expanding their deposit bases.
The total customer deposit portfolio of all Egyptian banks listed on the stock exchange grew by approximately 15.2% during H1 2026, reaching 3.97 EGP tn at the end of June 2026, compared with 3.45 EGP tn at the end of 2025, an increase of more than 524 EGP bn in just six months.
At the same time, CIB–Egypt continued to strengthen its position as the largest Egyptian bank listed on the stock exchange by customer deposits, with a portfolio of 1.30 EGP tn at the end of June 2026. Meanwhile, QNB Egypt maintained its position as the second-largest listed bank, with customer deposits reaching 910.37 EGP bn.
Despite the substantial size of their deposit bases, both banks maintained strong growth rates. CIB ranked third and QNB fourth among the five fastest-growing Egyptian banks listed on the stock exchange in customer deposits during H1 2026, reflecting their ability to combine a large deposit base with sustained strong growth.
It should be noted that all figures and growth rates mentioned in the above analysis are based on the standalone financial statements publicly disclosed by each bank as of the end of June 2026.
